Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will play a key part in managing invoicing processes, maintaining vendor records, and ensuring timely payment processing. This position requires excellent attention to detail and a strong ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities:

- Process accounts payable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.

- Review and validate invoices for proper documentation and authorization.

- Enter financial data into accounting systems with precision.

- Maintain and update vendor files to ensure accurate records.

- Handle payment processing, including checks, ACH transfers, and other payment methods.

- Sort, organize, and process incoming invoice mail to facilitate smooth operations.

- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and address payment-related inquiries.

- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.

- Assist with reconciliations and reporting as needed. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar role.

- Proficiency in data entry with exceptional accuracy.

- Familiarity with managing vendor files and related documentation.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

- Knowledge of accounting principles and payment processing.

- Effective communication skills to liaise with vendors and internal teams.
