Position: Accounting Associate Part Time, 6 month contract

Accounting Associate Part Time, 6 month contract

Responsible for scanning and filing of completed financial documents and assisting with accounts receivable transactions for Layfield Flexible Films Ltd, as part of a four-person team. Duties include coding, matching, and entry of customer invoices. Duties associated with invoicing, Credit and collections and revenue identification are through our ERP system, SYSPRO.

Reports to the Accounting Manager and provides support to Divisional Accountant.

Key Responsibilities
Daily:

  • Electronically scan and file all accounting documents on timely basis for compliance.
  • Photocopy invoices to be self-assessed for PST. Separate invoices by company and by accounting period.
  • Inputting new customer’s data in SYSPRO, when required and follow up on the documentation.
  • Create and verify accounts receivable invoices and distribute to customers.
  • Verify and process customer refunds.
  • Assist with documentation for invoices.
  • Follow AR procedures.
  • Ad hoc analyses, tasks, and reconciliations, as well as other duties may be required.

Monthly:

  • Support Divisional accountant, as required, including preparation and posting of all bank transactions.
  • Work on month end Intercompany Journals with Divisional Accountant.

Education & Experience
Completion of some related post-secondary education or minimum of one (1) years’ relevant experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 1 years of accounts receivable and/or clerical experience.
  • Intermediate to Advanced level Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong data entry skills (speed and accuracy).
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills – Ability to communicate effectively with clients for invoicing and collections.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in an environment with frequent interruptions.

Working Conditions
This is a temporary part-time position of approximately 32 hrs. per week for a contract period of 6 months with the possibility of an extension.
The wage for this position is $25.00 per hour.
