The Hilton Short Pump is a flagship property of Shamin Hotels

Base pay range

$18.00/hr – $19.50/hr

The Accounting & HR Assistant supports the daily financial operations of the hotel by performing bookkeeping and administrative accounting tasks, maintaining communication with group clients and individual guests, and ensuring accuracy in financial transactions. This role also assists the human resources function by recruiting, onboarding, training, and supporting ongoing employee engagement activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processing, including invoice verification, payment processing, and collections.
  • Reconcile daily revenue reports and verify transactions against hotel records.
  • Prepare bank deposits and cash reconciliations while ensuring proper handling of hotel funds.
  • Serve as cashier and provide support for large groups and events.
  • Support payroll processing by reviewing timekeeping records and ensuring accuracy.
General Accounting and Compliance
  • Assist with general ledger entries, journal postings, and month‑end closing procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, tax regulations, and internal controls.
  • Maintain accurate financial documentation and assist with audits when necessary.
Administrative and Support Duties
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive supplier relationships.
  • Organize and maintain financial records, ensuring proper documentation of invoices, receipts, and expense reports.
  • Support other accounting team members with ad‑hoc projects and reporting as needed.
Human Resources
  • Draft job requisitions and postings and other HR documents.
  • Complete initial screenings and interviews for entry‑level candidates, document the hiring process, and report results to hiring managers.
  • Review timekeeping and other records using HRIS, including Paycom.
  • Promote internal communications and employee education efforts and coordinate programs with Corporate HR.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of employee engagement and recognition initiatives.
