Responsibilities
The House Supervisor assumes responsibility for the administrative and technical supervision of all personnel during designated times when the hospital management team is not present. The House Supervisor plans, organizes, directs, and supervises both professional and non-professional staff to ensure excellent patient care and customer service. They serve as a resource for supervisory staff and assist in educating nursing staff. The House Supervisor also analyzes and adjusts objectives for the hospital on a case-by-case basis, meets organizational goals, and proactively anticipates changes and needs.
In coordination with Department Directors, they facilitate hospital-wide patient care activities.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree preferred.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
Previous clinical nursing experience. Management experience in nursing is preferred.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse. BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required. ACLS certification through the American Heart Association must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrated leadership and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication and computer skills.
