About The Role The Center Administrator plans, organizes, and directs all activities of the facility according to its policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives. The role participates in financial and cost‑containment decisions, ensures regulatory compliance, manages the environment of care, personnel, equipment, and fosters a favorable image of the facility to physicians, patients, insurers, and the public.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate the center’s mission, vision, and values to all staff.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on goal setting, problem solving, resource management, and outcome achievement.
  • Define performance objectives and metrics for the center.
  • Assess staff competence and provide timely feedback.
  • Recruit and retain physician utilization through marketing and public relations.
  • Model a healthy work environment, encouraging desired behaviors.
  • Manage change effectively and help others adapt.
  • Collaborate with other centers to solve issues impacting patient care and organizational goals.
  • Demonstrate fiscal accountability and achieve outcomes within allocated resources.
  • Incorporate quality improvement and patient satisfaction data into center goals.
  • Understand applicable regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Protect center assets through appropriate management, protection, and inventory control.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Competencies
  • Problem recognition and definition, data collection, fact establishment, and conclusion drawing.
  • Basic financial interpretation and instruction comprehension.
Qualifications
  • Completion of a minimum of two years of advanced education (college level) in business, nursing, or healthcare administration.
  • Evidence of leadership abilities.
  • Business‑management experience.
  • Financial‑management experience.
  • Healthcare‑management experience.
  • High school graduate or GED.
  • BLS certification (required by individual ASC policy).
Preferred
  • RN with an active license in the appropriate state.
  • ACLS certification.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing or healthcare administration.
  • ASC experience.
  • Strong computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, email).
  • CASC certification and/or AORN Ambulatory Surgery Administrator Certificate (strongly recommended).
