* DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
*** Manages, monitors, and schedules civil and criminal cases, maintains case file to ensure that all litigants are afforded due process and their day in court.
* Properly and accurately input complaints, tickets, and petitions into the Court’s database.
* Create case files, while accurately updating and maintaining them electronically.
* Schedule arraignments, mediations, hearings, and trials on the Court’s calendar.
* Collect and receipt filing fees and fines.
* Issue writs and arrest warrants to be executed by the Constable’s Office.
* Legally and properly manage, monitor and schedule civil and criminal cases, from the initial filling to the disposition.
* Service customers; reviews and processes requests in person, by telephone, e-filing, fax and/or mail.
* Collects and receipts fees over the counter and by mail, acts as a cashier.
* Inputs data into the computer data base in order for the Justice Courts to easily access the information.
* Manages civil and criminal court documents by preparing, filing, processing, entering, issuing, recording, and setting dockets.
* Prepares civil and criminal cases based on office policy and state statute to ensure accuracy of filings.
* Maintains confidentiality and security of documents, data and courtroom proceedings.
* Maintains knowledge, understanding and proficiency of case management to minimize errors.
* Assists with training when necessary.
* Participates in community outreach programs for the department.
* Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
** MINIMUM
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
*** High School Diploma/GED.
* 2 years of job related experience within a legal system. Experience in Justice of the Peace Court preferred.
* Good computer and typing skills (minimum 35 WPM)
* Excellent research and organizational skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and written skills.
* Must have ability to interact with the public, employees and elected officials.
** STARTING SALARY RANGE:** $20.50 - $25.63 hourly based on qualifications
