, this position plays a key role in developing and optimizing CNC turning processes for high-mix, small-batch components used in Aerospace, Space, Defense, and Medical Device applications. This is not a “monitor the machine” role — it’s a hands‑on engineering position focused on precision, process control, and continuous improvement.

The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Program and optimize multi‑axis CNC turning centers
  • Set up and validate new machining processes
  • Select tooling, determine work holding, and refine cutting strategies
  • Develop setup sheets and process documentation
  • Estimate cycle times, tooling cost, and production flow
  • Perform first‑article validation and in‑process troubleshooting
  • Adjust feeds, speeds, offsets, and tool paths to maintain quality
  • Train and support setup machinists and operators
  • Collaborate with leadership, planners, QC, and machinists
  • Support compliance with ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality standards

This is a high‑impact role in a professional, quality‑driven shop environment.

Machines, Controls & Software

You’ll work with equipment such as:

  • Machines: Multi‑channel dual‑turret turn‑mill lathes with sub‑spindles
  • Controls: Fanuc
  • CAM Software: Hypermill (Mastercam or similar experience transferable)
  • Inspection Tools: Calipers, micrometers, indicators, bore gauges

What We’re Looking For

Required:
  • 5+ years of CNC turning and programming experience
  • Experience with live tooling, Y‑axis, and sub‑spindle lathes
  • Strong proficiency with Fanuc controls
  • Experience with Hypermill or similar CAM software
  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T understanding
  • Ability to design tooling and fixturing solutions
  • Process‑driven mindset with troubleshooting ability
  • Reliable, safety‑minded, and team‑oriented
Preferred (Not Required):
  • Aerospace or Medical machining experience
  • Multi‑axis or turn‑mill experience
  • Engineering degree (Manufacturing, Mechanical, or related field)
