- Day, evening, and weekend work, including project work and travel, is required as needed

As outlined in this document, the job requirements pertain to both IRI employed consultants and contractors who perform work on behalf of IRI.
Overall Purpose Of The PositionThe purpose of the Labor Consultant position is to provide high-quality, customized professional consulting services to IRI clients. The consulting services include, but are not limited to, labor and employee relations, card mitigation, NLRB election campaigns, labor training, coaching, communications, and delivery of customized IRI products and services. Most of the consulting work is often done at client sites that may require extensive travel.
The consultant is also expected to become knowledgeable about all IRI products and services and to offer ideas and solutions to clients as part of a total solution utilizing all three areas of IRI expertise in labor, leadership development (OD), and communications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Deliver a broad range of services to IRI clients. The following descriptions of services provided are examples of the work the consultant may be asked to perform, but additional types of consulting services may also be required.
- Develop strategies to assist clients in meeting their goals and assist with the implementation of plans as appropriate.
- Display a mindset that exudes confidence, competence, and delivers an overall impression required to get the job done.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop relationships, inspire teams and gain trust.
- Manage budgets, establish deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor, and summarize progress of the overall project.
- Develop and deliver customized training materials for large and small groups, using IRI templates and formats.
- Conduct organizational assessments, followed by analysis and integration of interviews and other corporate data to develop reports and recommendations for clients.
- Apply critical thinking to qualitative and quantitative data to develop and implement recommendations specific to client needs.
- Develop and deliver presentations, including but not limited to corporate board members and executives and other members of leadership.
- Facilitate meetings with small and large groups, including employees at all levels within an organization.
- Assume full responsibility for all client communications, including briefings and reports.
- Train other consultants in areas of the consultant’s specialty.
- The consultant may be required to supervise and coordinate the work of other consultants working on an internal IRI team. This will include but is not limited to the assignment of work, monitoring work performance, coaching and mentoring, and providing development needed for Adjunct or Mid-level consultants.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree. Degree in IRI area of expertise (Labor/Communications/Leadership Development) required.
- Minimum of 10 years’ related and successful experience related to employee and labor relations and NLRB election campaigns.
- Experience must include a blend of direct responsibility for strategy as well as execution.
- Strong executive presence and business acumen.
- Ability to approach client needs from a strategic perspective, based on the consultant’s experience and expertise, and continuously focused on the client’s desired outcomes.
- Ability to interact across all levels of management within an organization.
- Ability to speak effectively in both small and large groups.
- Willingness to challenge and be challenged when discussing client strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with and convey complex information to individuals at all organizational levels.
