As a Laborer Journeyman at DN Tanks, you will be responsible for completing all work required throughout the phases of the tank building process, setting the pace of work and providing guidance to other local workers.
- Complete assignments in a timely fashion with little supervision; ask for additional information when tasks or assignments are unclear and support the daily plan
- Understand the tank building process and identify the next tasks to be completed in the process
- Assist in checking grade and subgrade elevations using level or transit
- Assist with the shoring erection, bracing, dismantling, and load out of shoring materials
- Assist with assembling pipe and fabrication of forms for pipe pits
- Load out the tank including braces, shoring, etc.
- Train apprentices
- Assist with shoring installation
- Maintain continuous site cleanup and organization
- Follow safety procedures and understand DN Tanks safety policies
- Participate in the review of the task hazard analysis (THA)
- Identify safety hazards and participate in the Award of Excellence (AOE) Program
- Promote clean, safe work practices by monitoring other employees while performing work
- Follow quality control (QC) program, understand construction tolerances, and report any quality defects immediately
- Maintain all certifications in compliance with DN Tanks Safety & Equipment Programs
- Establish and execute DN University training goals with assistance from the Field Operations Manager
- Plan safety into each operation and identify or remove hazards immediately as part of the task without being asked
- Ability to travel to project sites throughout the United States at the direction of the Field Operations Manager
- Own and maintain general hand tools
- Ability to climb and perform tasks at heights on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders, shoring, and scaffolds
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment including steel‑toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.
