- Personal Care Assistance:
Provide assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, while ensuring comfort, privacy, and dignity. - Safety and Security:
Monitor residents for distress, illness, or emergencies; follow safety protocols, including fall prevention, and respond appropriately to incidents. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of resident care, changes in condition, medication administration, and daily activities. - Communication:
Collaborate with the nursing team, caregivers, and other staff to ensure seamless communication about residents’ needs and updates. - Resident Engagement:
Plan and participate in recreational activities, exercise programs, and social events to support physical and emotional well-being; tailor activities to residents’ interests. - Maintain Residents’ Privacy:
Protect residents’ privacy and confidentiality, adhering to HIPAA and facility policies.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) or equivalent.

Friendly, patient, and a good listener; treat residents like family. - Team Player:
Ability to work collaboratively with the nursing team and other staff. - Attention to Detail:
Detail-oriented to ensure residents are comfortable and safe.
The Resident Assistant primarily works within the assisted living unit. The role involves hands-on work, exposure to diverse needs, and interaction with residents, families, and staff.
Physical Demands:
Regularly stands, bends, talks, walks, sits, climbs stairs, lifts and/or moves items up to 50 pounds, and may assist with resident transfers using proper body mechanics. Vision requirements include multiple aspects of vision; smell may be required to support resident safety and quality care. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
