Job Title: Project Controls Planner / Scheduler
Employment Type: Full-Time
Work Arrangement: Onsite, office-based project environment
OverviewAn established engineering and construction program is seeking an experienced Project Controls Planner/Scheduler to support a large, complex industrial project. This role focuses on developing, maintaining, and analyzing construction schedules while coordinating closely with multidisciplinary project teams. The position is fully onsite and requires the ability to work within a highly regulated facility environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, maintain, and analyze construction schedules.
- Integrate schedule data across all project disciplines and functions.
- Coordinate with departments to ensure alignment with project schedule requirements.
- Identify constraints and evaluate their impact on the project timeline.
- Monitor critical path activities and overall schedule performance.
- Perform schedule analyses to identify risk areas and improvement opportunities.
- Recommend schedule recovery strategies and corrective actions.
- Support project organizational and administrative planning activities.
- Lead planning and scheduling efforts when delegated.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with 10–13 years of relevant professional experience,
- or
- High school diploma (or equivalent) with 14–17 years of relevant professional experience.
- U.S. Citizenship required to obtain facility-specific clearance.
- Ability to pass pre‑employment drug screening and background check.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 scheduling software.
- Experience with planning, critical path analysis, and schedule performance measurement.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Construction experience on large, complex EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects.
- Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience.
- Proven ability to identify issues and implement corrective actions.
- Flexibility to respond to urgent project needs and shifting priorities.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required facility access.
- Successful completion of government security screening and reliability programs.
- Willingness to comply with ongoing drug, alcohol, and medical screening requirements.
- Ability to work safely within an operating industrial facility.
