Job Title: Welder (TIG / MIG)
Location: Richmond, IN
Shift: Full-Time | Shift details provided upon interview
Pay: $19–$25/hour (based on experience)
Our client is seeking a skilled Welder to join their team in Richmond, IN. This position is responsible for producing high-quality welds and assemblies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship, works safely, and understands that quality and accountability matter every single shift.
This is a hands‑on role requiring attention to detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Key Responsibilities- Perform TIG (aluminum) and/or MIG (steel) welding based on production needs
- Tack‑weld and weld components and assemblies using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment
- Lay out, position, and secure parts according to specifications and blueprints
- Follow weld and assembly requirements using manual or semi‑automatic welding equipment in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions
- Set up and adjust welding equipment (torch ignition, valves, amperage, voltage) to achieve proper weld quality
- Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, fixtures, and gauges to inspect finished parts
- Maintain welding equipment through preventive maintenance and troubleshooting
- Complete production and quality documentation accurately
- Maintain strong attendance and reliability standards
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times
- Take ownership of quality — “do it right the first time” mindset
- 1+ years of TIG (aluminum) or MIG (steel) welding experience or equivalent technical training
- Successful completion of weld test (CIT or equivalent)
- Experience operating various welding equipment and procedures
- Ability to use electrical and manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints
- Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to consistently use protective equipment
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- AWS Welding Certification preferred but not required
