Overview
Job Title: Clinical Psychologist for Richmond State Hospital
Work Setup and Shift: On-site, Monday through Friday, 40-hour week
Interview Process: First interview via Teams; second interviews requiring in-person attendance
Duration: 6 months contract position and is likely to be extended or turn into a state permanent hire
Hourly Pay: $63/hour
Independent caseload: approximately 60 patients
Responsibilities- Administer initial and annual psychological assessments for all patients.
- Perform psychological testing, scoring, interpretation, and written reports.
- Participate in clinical treatment meetings.
- Provide evidence-based, recovery oriented therapeutic interventions to patients in individual and/or group format.
- Maintain a therapeutic alliance with the patient and family/caregivers and facilitates family therapy.
- Provide evidence-based therapeutic and psycho educational interventions for campus-wide active treatment groups.
- Complete documentation of all aspects of patient contact per facility, departmental and HIPAA guidelines.
- Provide recommendations for specialized psychological evaluation and treatment according to the goals outlined in the master treatment plan.
- Ensure patient involvement and participation in treatment planning and implementation.
- Ph.D. or Psy.
D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology - Valid license as a Psychologist by the Indiana State Psychology Board
- Knowledge of psychological theory, practice, and applicable laws pertaining to the practice of psychology in Indiana
- Ability to utilize various sources of data to determine changing clinical needs of hospital population and plan accordingly
- Ability to administer, interpret, and incorporate psychological assessment materials to address salient diagnostic and treatment issues
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of APA ethical guidelines
- Knowledge of Indiana rules and statutes and HIPAA regulations pertaining to patient privacy and confidentiality
- Ability to supervise master’s level clinicians and practicum students, if applicable
- Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
- Experience in clinical settings with diverse adult populations, including geriatrics, preferably in an in-patient psychiatric or mental health facility
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
