Position: Internship/Co-op/Apprenticeship Opportunity

Description

Are you a high school or college student looking for an opportunity to expand your knowledge and get real‑world experience and opportunity within the workforce? At Ahaus, we understand the importance of investing in the next generation of talent and are looking for driven students who have the desire to learn and grow in our industry.

For over 79 years, Ahaus Tool & Engineering has offered customers high-quality solutions to challenging manufacturing, tooling, and automation equipment needs. We’ve grown from a small tooling shop in a backyard in Richmond, Indiana to a $25M+ tooling, engineering and custom automation firm. Throughout our growth we have never lost our small business feel, where our leaders truly care about the people working for them, and it shows.

We couldn’t be prouder of our team. Our average tenure is 10+ years, with several members staying 40+ years. We offer great wages and benefits, flexible start times Monday through Friday, generous paid time off, paid holidays, employee recognition and incentives, volunteer and outreach events, employee breakfasts, barbeques, pitch‑ins, summer games, company outings, shared hobbies, and many other perks. It’s precisely why Ahaus enjoys a reputation as a place people want to be.

Co‑op,

Internship and Apprenticeship Opportunities

High school students – A co‑op opportunity allows you to work during or after school.

High school graduates or current college students – We offer internship opportunities. Internships are part‑time, typically temporary, over the summer or a semester.

Regardless of whether you are here for a co‑op or an internship, your area of focus is often related to your academic field of study or your career interests. This is practical experience within a professional setting that gives insight into company culture, daily operations, and sometimes assists with specific competencies needed for a degree or the entry requirements for the apprenticeship program.

The position is paid. Gain experience, identify what you like (and don’t like) with a hands‑on introduction to the duties and daily operations of the trade, and get paid to do it all. If you enjoy your internship, this might indicate that your career is on the right path.

Ahaus Apprenticeship Program

Ahaus apprenticeship opportunities were born in 1979 and are now a registered apprenticeship program credentialed through the U.S. Department of Labor. Successful completion results in a national credential recognized everywhere in the industry.

Our apprenticeship is an employer‑driven training model for aspiring tradespeople. We provide on‑the‑job learning from experienced mentors and related classroom instruction on the technical and academic aspects of the job. Our training is rooted in industry skill standards and competencies.

Apprentices earn a paycheck and full‑time status as soon as they begin their official apprenticeship, earning while they build their skills. They also earn progressively higher wages, flexible scheduling, a comprehensive benefits package (insurance, college scholarship covering tuition, books and fees for an associate’s degree), PTO, and holiday pay, among other perks.

Requirements

Are you a hard‑working, self‑motivated individual student looking for an opportunity to get your foot in the door at a place that truly cares about its workforce? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

While we do not always have immediate opportunities available, we are always accepting applications. We encourage you to apply now if you are looking for an opportunity in the next 3–12 months. It’s never too early to submit your resume. Do it today before all of the opportunities are taken.
