Job SummarySangamo Therapeutics is seeking a temporary Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, who will contribute to achieving the company’s communications goals. The ideal candidate will be an experienced communicator and project manager, ready to drive impactful communication strategies. This role serves as both a strategic partner and hands-on communication expert who can balance the company’s needs, culture, and leadership perspectives during a period of change.

This will be a hybrid onsite position, located in our Point Richmond, CA facility.
Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with the Head of Communications and Investor Relations to strategically plan, execute and track performance for all external communications, including:
- External announcements
- Quarterly earnings
- Scientific presentations and publications
- Conferences and speaking opportunities
- Media engagement
- Social media
- External website and IR website
- Own the strategic planning and execution for all internal communications, with the aim of driving employee engagement and satisfaction, including:
- Town Halls
- Employee communications
- Internal events e.g. Science Talks, webinars, celebrations, culture and DEI events
- Active management of company intranet
- Internal branding and processes
- Drive and manage an active internal and external communications calendar.
- Content and branding management of external digital assets, including corporate website and clinical trial websites.
- Collaborate with functional departments and DEI community on internal events, communications, and culture initiatives.
- Contract and vendor management.
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 6+ years of experience working in Communications, preferably in biotech/pharma industry. Some agency experience preferred.
- Proven track record in both strategic communications planning and hands-on content creation and channel management.
- Extensive experience developing messaging and communication strategies that engage employees and support business goals.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with all levels of leadership and diverse functions.
- Strong understanding of executive communications, employee engagement, and event management.
- Excellent writing skills and strong verbal skills.
- Capacity to develop an understanding of a dynamic, multi-faceted story, involving multiple elements of scientific, financial, commercial, competitive, strategic, and goal-oriented messages.
- Strong proficiency in Office Suite and experience with Sharepoint
- Some design experience e.g. creating visuals using Canva preferred
- Experience in biopharma scientific communications, medical/scientific affairs, R&D communications, or related content.
