12‑hour rotating shifts (7 am–7 pm days; 7 pm–7 am nights) - Reports to:
Operations Supervisor
Compensation: $40.62/hr, non‑exempt (fully qualified hourly rate, after training, $50.40/hr). Starting hourly rates are determined by role, level, and location. Actual rate may vary by work site and additional factors such as job‑related skills, experience, and applicable education/training. We’ll discuss location‑specific factors during hiring; some facilities are covered by Collective Bargaining Agreements. U.S. postings list hourly rate only and exclude benefits, pension contributions, overtime, and shift premiums.
WhatYou Will Do
- Transfer operations: open, load, and unload tank trucks and railcars; connect/disconnect hoses; operate valves.
- Operate and monitor pumps, piping, and plant systems; assist with upkeep and routine maintenance.
- Troubleshoot operational and equipment issues; collaborate with Acid and Shift Utility Operators.
- Housekeeping and support: cleaning, sweeping, tool room and warehouse inventory, trash removal, digging, weed spraying, shoveling.
- Safety support: fire watch; confined space hole attendant/entrant.
- Operate mobile equipment including backhoe, Track mobile, forklifts, and other assigned units.
- Mechanical work: replace nuts and bolts on 1″–48″ pipe flanges.
- Adhere to and champion Confined Space, High Work, Management of Change, and Hot Work Operating Procedures.
- Inspect, maintain, and document PPE condition.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Prior industrial plant experience preferred.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude; able to read/interpret safety rules, O&M instructions, procedures, manufacturer literature, diagrams, and schematics.
- Computer proficiency:
Microsoft applications, maintenance management systems, email. - Willing and able to work 12‑hour rotating shifts and, as needed, 14–16 hour days for emergencies/repairs.
- Work outdoors in heat/cold with rotating shifts.
- Climb stairs and ladders; lift within OSHA guidelines.
- Perform tasks in 100°F ambient conditions while wearing acid‑resistant PVC rain suit (coat, pants, rubber boots, gloves, face shield) and respirators, including full‑face as required.
