Job Description And Duties
This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by providing the more responsible, varied, and complex technical analytical staff services, such as program planning, evaluation, systems development, budgeting, monitoring, and providing consultative services to management. The Analyst II is responsible for monitoring key Prenatal Screening (PNS) Program activities necessary to ensure the quality and timeliness of prenatal screening services under new and existing PNS Program operations.
The Analyst II supports the screening programs for neural tube defects (NTDs) and the cell-free DNA (cfDNA) prenatal genetic abnormalities and works with the Prenatal Logistics team to implement, maintain, and disseminate new program policies and protocols. The Analyst II also provides technical oversight and evaluation of laboratory contractor compliance with PNS Program policies, particularly those related to cfDNA screening services, including planning and documenting contractor meetings, tracking follow-up actions, and coordinating with regional case coordinators to address escalated case management issues.
The incumbent performs all duties in order to carry out the mission of the Genetic Disease Screening Program (GDSP) Division, which is “to improve the lives of California families affected by genetic disorders.”
