Position: Behavior Technician (BT)

Overview

Entry-level position with PAID training and certification provided. Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour, pay increase after you get your RBT certification. Job Type: PART-TIME (10 to 25+ hours per week). Work Setting:
Home-based care.

Schedule:

Monday to Sunday. Afternoon and evening availability required. Preference is given to candidates with availability 2:00-8:00 pm. Location options include Oakley, Richmond, Concord, Martinez, Walnut Creek, Antioch.

What You’ll Do

As a Behavior Technician at BTS, you’ll work 1:1 with children with autism or developmental delays to build communication, social, play, and daily living skills through structured, play-based activities. Sessions take place in the child’s home, clinic, or school, lasting 2–3 hours. We tailor your caseload to fit your availability and match you with age groups you’re comfortable with, from toddlers to teens.

Responsibilities Include
  • Delivering one-on-one behavior support through fun, individualized activities
  • Implementing behavior intervention plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs)
  • Collecting and recording data on client progress accurately
  • Communicating regularly with families to provide updates and support
  • Participating in ongoing training, team meetings, and supervision sessions

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience working with children with neurodevelopmental disabilities, preferably in an ABA or behavioral health setting. Relevant direct-care experience, including supporting children with neurodiverse needs or caring for a family member in a similar capacity, will also be thoughtfully considered.
  • Positive, enthusiastic attitude and a passion for working with children
  • Spanish-speaking is highly preferred
  • Experience with children or individuals with disabilities is a plus, but not required
  • Highly preferred:
    Current student or recent graduate in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Sociology, Biology, or related field.
  • RBT certification is a plus, but we will cover the cost of obtaining it!
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
  • Reliability and a willingness to work with a variety of clients
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Experience with children is a plus, but not required
  • This job requires reliable transportation and a driver's license
  • If using your vehicle for work, we will need an auto insurance policy with your name on it. In the absence of a driver's license, you will have to submit a government-issued
  • This job requires a CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain during onboarding)
  • This job requires a TB test (within 90 days), MMR & Varicella Immunization and a Pre-employment Physical (within the past year)
  • This job requires a background check (FBI & DOJ)
