Position: Chemicals Lab Technician I

Our client, a leader in the refining and hydroprocessing industry, is seeking a Lab Technician I to join their team. As a Lab Technician I, you will be part of the Research and Development department supporting catalyst testing and process development activities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, strong teamwork, and effective communication skills, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Lab Technician I

Pay Range: $30hr

Shift: 1st shift (AM)

What's the Job?
  • Execute laboratory tasks related to testing refining catalysts and hydrocarbon feed stocks/products under supervision.
  • Handle testing units, collect samples, and perform blending, storage, and inspection of samples, including potentially hazardous chemicals.
  • Operate analytical equipment to gather feed and product characterization data, ensuring adherence to SOPs and QA/QC standards.
  • Support operation of complex bench scale units for catalyst evaluation, monitoring temperature and pressure conditions.
  • Conduct basic maintenance and troubleshooting of lab systems, maintaining a clean and organized laboratory environment.
What's Needed?
  • A BSc in chemistry or a related science field.
  • Laboratory work experience, including safe handling of chemicals and operation of analytical/testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of experimental process monitoring, lab equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Awareness of safety protocols when working with hazardous chemicals, high-pressure, and high-temperature units.
  • Preferred experience with operation of testing units at elevated temperatures and pressures, and mechanical skills for assembling piping and testing equipment.
