Maintenance Technician - 1st shift

Summary

Powered Electric Maintenance Technician provides first line support for all production machinery and assembly machinery.

• Plan equipment preventative maintenance schedules, shutdowns, and repairs with management.
• Control equipment downtime, Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and organization/housekeeping improvements.
• Produce a daily and monthly activity report.
• Control equipment materials and spare parts accuracy for items under repair.
• Carry out the Time-Based Maintenance Preventive Maintenance module in SAP system.
• Report results and improvement plans for maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with Engineering for new equipment installation.
• Review and support the efficient maintenance of equipment, provide weekly and monthly reports.
• Review weekend plans, shutdown plans, preventive maintenance plans, one point lessons, and the maintenance manual.
• Ensure accuracy of equipment materials and spare parts.
• Provide detailed lists of equipment inconsistencies with countermeasures.
• Support and update improvements to equipment and parts repairs.
• Support and conduct troubleshooting for equipment failures.
• Create a breakdown repair equipment manual for future repairs.
• Assess and coordinate departmental training needs and develop training plans.
• Maintain Personal Protective Equipment per OSHA and Mobis Alabama standards.
• Comply with and promote safety in the workplace, attend safety meetings, and conduct safety meetings when necessary.
• Support the Maintenance Supervisor as needed.

• Five or more years of maintenance technician experience.
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Technical degree from an accredited institution preferred.
• Working knowledge of the automobile industry.
• Automotive manufacturing experience desired.
• Experience with SAP.
• Automated production line experience.
• Manufacturing experience highly desired.
• Knowledge of production robotics desired.
• Knowledge of conveyor systems desired.
• Familiar with lean work practices.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TMP) techniques.
• Knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of schematics and electrical systems.
• Working knowledge of servo motors and controls.
• Working knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic presses.
• Knowledge of centrifugal pumps.
• Welding to include SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW.
• Safe work practices including LOTO.

• 80% on the production floor, 20% in the office.
• Extensive walking and standing on the production floor.
• Occasional bending, stooping, lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility to work multiple shifts and weekends.
• Team based working environment.
• Required to wear PPE correctly at all times.
• Non‑work‑related activities on the production line can lead to safety incidents; therefore, unauthorized departure from the workplace, chatting, listening to music, and dancing are prohibited.
