Bryan County Chamber Seeking CEO/Executive Director
The Bryan County Chamber of Commerce is seeking a career-minded, dynamic, energetic, and highly motivated individual for the position of Executive Director. The successful candidate will plan, coordinate, and assist in the development and execution of current and long-range programs to achieve major community and organizational goals.
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive and strategic leader of the Chamber of Commerce, responsible for advancing the organization’s mission to advocate, connect, and grow the local business community. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED provides visionary leadership, operational oversight, fiscal stewardship, and external representation while driving membership, membership retention, economic vitality, and organizational sustainability. The position is responsible for supervising support personnel and managing administrative and financial affairs of the Chamber office.

- Serve as the chief strategist for the Chamber, developing and executing a forward-looking program of work aligned with Board priorities.
- Identify opportunities for growth, innovation, partnerships, and enhanced member engagement.
- Advise and support the Board of Directors with timely information, strategic insights, and actionable recommendations.
- Ensure the Chamber remains relevant, responsive, and impactful in a fast-growing and quickly changing business and economic environment.
- Work closely with the Board of Directors, Executive Board, Ambassador Council and other committees to ensure strong governance and accountability.
- Implement board-approved policies, bylaws, and the annual Program of Work.
- Work with the Board to develop and implement a Strategic Plan.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Board and staff.
- Lead membership recruitment, retention, and engagement strategies to grow revenue and strengthen value.
- Ensure delivery of meaningful benefits, programs, events, and communications for members at all levels.
- Build strong relationships with key investors, sponsors, and major employers.
- Serve as a visible and accessible leader to members and stakeholders.
- Represent the interests of the business community at the local, regional, and state levels.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with elected officials, government agencies, and partner organizations.
- Lead public policy initiatives, legislative events, and advocacy efforts aligned with Board-approved positions.
- Serve as a trusted, non-partisan voice for business.
- Serve as chief financial officer of the organization, overseeing budgeting, financial planning, and fiscal controls.
- In coordination with the Treasurer, Board Chair and finance committee prepare an annual operating budget and maintain chamber expenditures within the budgetary limitations.
- Ensure long-term financial sustainability through diversified revenue streams including membership, sponsor ships, events, and programs.
- Monitor financial performance and provide transparent reporting to the Board each month.
- Maintain audits, risk management, and compliance.
- Lead, mentor, and manage Chamber staff, fostering a positive, professional, and high-performing culture.
- Oversee hiring, performance management, professional development, and succession planning.
- Ensure efficient day-to-day operations, systems, and procedures.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and innovation across the organization.
- Serve as the primary ambassador and spokesperson for the Chamber.
- Build strong relationships with both the City of Pembroke, City of Richmond Hill, Bryan County, the Development Authority of Bryan County, Bryan County Schools, economic development partners, businesses, and community leaders.
