MERN Stack Developer (React and Node.js)

Location: 3 days/week on site (Markham) – 6 Staples Dr.

Duration: 6‑month contract.

Base pay range: $60.00/hr – $65.00/hr.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities:

• Leading, mentoring, and supporting a team of five developers.
• Overseeing daily production operations, including incident management, troubleshooting, and resolution.
• Performing code reviews, managing team performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Developing and enhancing front‑end features using React (approximately 70% of development workload).
• Supporting back‑end development using Node.js and Type Script (approximately 30%).
• Working with Mongo

  SQL databases for designing, querying, and optimizing data structures.
• Managing production logs and supporting debugging and issue resolution for the e‑commerce platform.
• Contributing to new project work aligned with retail e‑commerce initiatives.
• Building, deploying, and maintaining code within an Azure cloud environment using CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborating with cross‑functional groups to ensure timely delivery of enhancements and platform updates.

Required Skills:

• 5–8 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience with React and the MERN stack (Mongo
  
  DB, Express.js, React, Node.js).
• Deep front‑end expertise (70% React) combined with solid back‑end experience in Node.js (30%).
• Proven experience leading or mentoring development teams in a fast‑paced or production environment.
• Practical experience working in Azure cloud, including CI/CD, deployments, and build pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of Mongo
  
  DB and No
  
  SQL data modelling.
• Experience supporting production environments, debugging, and resolving issues in real time.
• Experience working on high‑traffic or enterprise‑level web applications is an asset.

Nice‑to‑Haves:

• Experience with C# or .NET.
• Experience with Shopify or e‑commerce platform integrations.
