Overview and Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join our Clinical team on April 13th.
The Registered Nurse in the ambulatory care clinics plays a key role in delivering safe, patient centered care across a range of medical and paramedical specialties. Working collaboratively within an interprofessional team, the RN is responsible for clinical assessment, care coordination, health teaching, and supporting procedural and treatment workflows. This role ensures high quality, efficient care delivery, while promoting continuity, safety, and a positive patient experience in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
Key
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including clinical assessments, vital signs, documentation, and patient education in accordance with organizational policies and CNO standards.
- Support physicians and specialists with procedures, treatments, and follow-up care, ensuring adherence to best practices and infection control protocols.
- Coordinate patient flow and assist with triage, appointment preparation, and care transitions across the clinic.
- Administer medications and immunizations as ordered, monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions.
- Document all care activities accurately in the electronic health record (e.g., Meditech), ensuring timely and complete charting.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, safety checks, and daily huddles to promote team‑based, patient‑focused care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interprofessional team members to support a positive, inclusive care environment.
- Perform additional duties and undertake special projects as assigned
Corporate Responsibilities:
- Participate in all mandatory training requirements and work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, company Policies and Procedures, as well as established industry guidelines.
Skills &
Qualifications:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
- 3–5 years of related clinical nursing experience, preferably in ambulatory or outpatient settings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to follow established templates and guidelines.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload, and meet deadlines independently.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Sound judgment and decision‑making skills within established policies and procedures.
- Proven ability to work independently under general supervision.
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe, and electronic health records (e.g., Meditech MaaS).
- Satisfactory criminal record and vulnerable sector check.
- Proof of immunization and TB screening required.
