Cleaner – GDI Integrated Facility Services

Toronto, Ontario, Canada – CA $23.00-CA $24.00 per hour (Full Time)

Full Time, Monday to Friday 1:00 pm – 9:00 pm

A janitor is generally responsible for the cleaning of all hard floor surfaces and carpets, washrooms, common areas, offices, and the collection and removal of garbage from drop points to a garbage bin. Other responsibilities may be included.

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors, stairs and other surfaces (inside buildings).
• Stripping and waxing, steam cleaning carpets and cleaning windows – on request only.
• Wash windowsills; glass in interior doors, partition, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, interior/exterior; wash/spot clean interior walls as appropriate daily.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily: damp wipe glass surfaces, empty waste baskets, service soap and toilet paper dispensers, dust sills, clean tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, sweep/mop/scrub floors, etc.
• Assist the supervisor with any other assistance that requires help from the employee.
• Monitor possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and report to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, placing it in approved containers and designated collection area for removal.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers per specs.
• High dusting, wall washing.
• Compactor use, lifting up to 50 lbs, using heavy duty machines, changing garbage.

• Must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Must have own transportation.
• Requires attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check.
