Mechanical Designer

• System Design: Transferring into CAD the Design of heating and cooling plants, chilled water systems, HVAC distribution, and comprehensive plumbing/fire protection systems.
• Technical Calculations: Perform precise load calculations (HAP/Trace), equipment sizing (boilers, pumps, chillers, AHUs), and duct/pipe sizing; integrate all data into project-specific equipment schedules.
• Interdisciplinary Synergy: Proactively coordinate with other disciplines to ensure drawing integrity, eliminate interferences, and maintain system continuity.

• Completion of post‑secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in the field of mechanical building services.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing and fire protection design
• Proficient in AutoCAD, HAP, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with sizing and selection of mechanical equipment such as boiler, pumps, chillers, air handlers, etc.
• Experience designing heating plants, chilled water plants, and HVAC distribution systems.
• Familiarity with the design of controls systems and Building Automation Systems for various applications
• Familiarity with municipal, provincial, and federal Safety Codes and Authorities
