Our Sustainability Infrastructure Services team specializes in operating and maintaining facilities across Canada and the U.S.Our Engineering team focuses on the high-level planning, design, and execution of Mechanical and Electrical system and then support our Facility Management teams operate. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Customer Performance Specialist/Electrical Engineer to lead the development, execution, and management of operational improvements, projects, and provide operational support on Electrical engineering matters.
Whatyou will do
As the Customer Performance Specialist/Electrical Engineer, you will:
Provide operational support to our Facility Management teams with regards to engineering and project management
Review drawings and site conditions to identify improvements to electrical equipment
Support the development of standard and emergency operating procedures
Develop Arc Flash studies and plans with our Facility Management teams
Identify opportunities to improve the lifecycle of electrical equipment (ie: UPS, metering, generators, etc.)
Oversee improvements, manage execution processes and support operations and maintenance across various operational sites.
Interpret and review design drawings while coordinating with architects, engineers and other stakeholders.
This role requires excellent communication, strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
Provide oversight for ongoing operations and maintenance of electrical systems, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
Troubleshoot issues and implement proactive maintenance strategies.
Interpret electrical (high voltage, low voltage, lighting, metering, etc..) drawings
Provide feedback, updates, and revisions to ensure designs meet operational and cost objectives.
Maintain detailed documentation, including schedules, budget reports, and progress updates.
Develop maintenance operating procedures, standard operating procedures and emergency operating procedures to ensure operational continuity and avoiding operational risks.
Reviewing operational sites to identify and implement opportunities for enhancing engineering, energy, and operational efficiencies.
Develop a scope of work for various projects, ranging in size and complexity.
Quote, price, and track projects throughout the project lifecycle
Lead startup, testing and commissioning of Electrical systems to ensure functionality meets design specifications.
Develop and implement commissioning checklists and protocols with contractors, engineers and suppliers.
Collaborate closely with architects, engineers and construction teams to align project goals, schedules and deliverables.
Coordinate with multiple stakeholders (internal teams, external vendors and clients) for seamless project execution.
Develop project plans, scopes, timelines, and budgets.
Monitor project costs, manage risks, and initiate corrective actions to ensure profitability and efficiency.
Adhere to industry standards and local, state, and federal building codes.
Promote a strong safety culture and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, or related Engineering field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of hands-on engineering/project management experience in Electrical with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction and engineering drawings.
Familiarity with project design and management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD, BIM) or similar tools.
Demonstrated knowledge of Electrical systems, codes, and commissioning processes.
Arc Flash Studies, Uninterruptible Power Systems, Emergency Generators, etc..
Strong ability to develop project scopes, manage schedules, and control budgets.
Experience leading cross-functional teams during startup and commissioning.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
Strong leadership and team-building aptitude, with a focus on mentorship and professional development.
Effective problem-solving and decision-making under tight deadlines.
Willingness to travel domestically to project sites as needed.
LEED accreditation or knowledge of sustainability best practices is desirable.
