Logos Baptist Church (York Region) is seeking a spiritually grounded, relationally gifted, and missionally focused English Congregation Pastor to guide us in our next season of ministry. The ideal candidate will embody a shepherd’s heart, a teacher’s clarity, and a leader’s vision — equipping the church through biblical teaching, discipleship, and outreach in a multicultural, multigenerational context.
Overview of Church and CommunityLogos Baptist Church (York Region) (LBC YR) is a bilingual church in Chinese (Cantonese) and English. The number of English congregation, Chinese congregation and children congregation in-person worship participants is ~27, ~51 and ~17 on average respectively, from January through June 2025.
Congregational Personality & Culture
The congregation is primarily described as ‘Open and Friendly’ and ‘Community Minded’, reflecting a welcoming and relational culture. The small groups concept is used for fellowship and to walk closer together in life amongst congregants, striving to practice discipleship together.
Leadership Vision
The church views the ministry gifts of Teacher, Preacher, and Shepherd as essential. Key leadership traits include being biblically oriented, spiritually mature, and a good communicator. Top ministry priorities for the next pastor are discipleship, preaching, teaching and leadership development.
Community Profile
The church is located in a transitional or static-growth community. The church views outreach and engagement as ongoing challenges, with a heart for evangelism. While community outreach is seen as a medium priority, there is a desire to see it grow. For additional context, church leaders are growing weary as the English congregation transitions from a larger congregation to a smaller one while balancing the effort to maintain a similar level of serving as a larger congregation.

Mission Statement:
In practice, we aim to be/lead:
- A Master of Divinity (M. Div.) or its equivalent in theological education from an Association of Theological Schools (ATS) accredited institution.
- 5 years or more of pastoral experience
- Eligible to work in Canada
- A strong commitment to the authority of Scripture and sound theology.
- Solid experience in preaching, teaching, and pastoral leadership.
- Spiritually mature with a vibrant and deep walk with God.
- Compassionate, emotionally intelligent, and an effective communicator.
- A team player who leads with humility and courage.
- Preach and Teach:
Deliver biblically rich and relevant sermons that inspire spiritual growth. - Discipleship:
Foster Christlike maturity among congregants through structured growth pathways. - Leadership Development:
Equip and empower ministry leaders to serve effectively. - Pastoral Care:
Offer spiritual support, counselling, and visitation. - Evangelism & Outreach:
Lead the church in engaging the wider community with the Gospel. - Team
Collaboration:
Serve alongside a closely-knit pastoral team in a spirit of unity and humility.
