Senior Manager, Franchise Accounting

Our client is a Global Food Services Leader looking for a Senior Manager, Franchise Accounting to join their team!

• Oversee all aspects of accounting and financial reporting related to franchise operations, including royalty revenue, advertising funds, franchisee reimbursements, and deferred revenue.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes specific to franchise activities.
• Lead preparation and review of financial statements and internal reports related to franchise performance.
• Monitor compliance with franchise agreements, GAAP, SOX and internal controls
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of franchise statements by managing the exception reports to identify errors and issues.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Operations, Development, and Tax teams on franchise-related matters.
• Manage the accounting treatment of new franchise openings, renewals, terminations, and transfers.
• Partner with external auditors and ensure successful completion of audit procedures as it relates to franchise accounting.
• Supervise and mentor a team of accountants; provide coaching and development opportunities.
• Maintain documentation for all franchise accounting processes and ensure alignment with corporate policies.
• Stay up to date on emerging accounting standards and trends in franchising, automation tools, efficiencies and ensure proper implementation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA certification required
• Min 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience working in a franchised business model strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of Canadian and US GAAP
• Proven ability to manage teams

$120,000 - $140,000/year
