A facility of this caliber requires a hands-on Assistant Superintendent, a true leader who is authentic, accountable, communicates exceptionally, and brings their best talents forward. Candidates must have strong collaborative skills, be constant learners, lead with positivity, and enjoy working with a team to create experiences worth talking about.
Reporting to the golf course Superintendent, this is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their skills managing our expansive grounds, including the 18-hole course, practice facility, wedding site, and club house gardens. In recent years, the club has reinvested significant funds back into the property and is working with Lobb+Partners on a long-range Master Plan to modernize the course.
With some exciting projects and developments in the works, our next Superintendent will have the opportunity to have a great impact on our facility.
Responsibilities
Golf Course Maintenance and Upgrades
Ensure, collaboratively, that the entire Grounds Department operates efficiently while maintaining exceptional playing conditionsAssist to oversee property maintenance and aesthetic, conducive to this renowned facilityAssist in oversee course infrastructure including drainage, hydraulic irrigation system, cart paths, etc.Provide key updates to senior leadership Team MembersWork with the Superintendent on the Golf Course Master Plan, while adhering to budgetSupport the Superintendent in preparing and managing the operating budget and updating the five-year capital planOversee equipment maintenance and repairCoordinate golf course improvement projectsTeam Member Development
Assist in recruiting, coaching, training and leading the Maintenance Team to optimum performance while ensuring their safetyWork alongside and hands-on to act as a mentor to Team MembersDevelop and engage the Team with the company purpose: to enrich lives and inspire connection.Schedule, coordinate and train Team Members to ensure that course maintains optimum conditioningGuest Experience
Maintain course conditions that exceed Guest expectationsEnsure the Team is knowledgeable and able to answer Guest questionsCandidate Profile
5 to 10 years of experience in, and a solid understanding of the golf course industryRelevant education in agronomy or plant and soil science and Turfgrass ManagementStrong problem solving, decision making and organizational skillsExcellent interpersonal, leadership and English communication skillsAble to work in a fast-paced environment and on evenings/weekends/holidays when necessaryWilling to be hands on with the Team as well as complete necessary admin tasksExperience liaising with construction companies is an assetComfortable using technology and various computer programs to improve on course conditions and increase efficiencyEmbraces our core valuesBe Real: Communicate with honesty, openness, and respect.Own It: Take responsibility and show passion.Bring Your Best: Provide new ideas and seek opportunities for growth.Succeed Together: Show compassion; appreciate uniqueness.Benefits
