Commis Chef - RRCR Casual On Call
Great Canadian Entertainment invites applicants for the Commis Chef – RRCR Casual On Call position at River Rock Casino Resort. This role is essential to creating high quality meals and dining experiences for guests while maintaining company standards and safety & hygiene policies.
Responsibilities- Prepares, pre‑cooks, cooks and presents menu items in a timely fashion; following standardized recipes.
- Prepares checklists and a variety of foods, garnishes, sauces, and other products as required for high‑volume production and execution.
- Cleans kitchen equipment after use according to health and safety policies and procedures.
- Receives stock from Receiving Operations, labels, dates, stores and rotates in appropriate storage areas.
- Counts inventory as directed.
- Attends monthly culinary meetings.
- Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments.
- Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders (guests, ownership and team members).
- Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
- Other duties as required.
- Culinary education an asset.
- Level 1 Food Safe, Safe Food Handling or BASICS. Fast Food Handler Certificate.
- Ability to successfully obtain a Criminal Record Check.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
- Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service‑oriented communication.
- Willingness to learn, develop and achieve new skills for personal and professional development.

As we operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, you must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, graveyards, weekends and holidays. The hours of work are based on operational and business needs.
