Ocean Spray is hiring for a(n) Ag. Quality Specialist - West Coast! We’re a team of farmers, thinkers, creators, and doers. The Agricultural Quality Specialist will ensure the quality and safety of the cranberry supply throughout the supply chain. You will implement quality control processes and standards for receiving operations to meet regulatory requirements and customer expectations. Additionally, you will collaborate with various Ag teams to drive value for our grower-owners, identify opportunities for procedure improvement, and support broader food safety and quality measures for the Cooperative.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for efforts related to measuring, monitoring and enhancing the quality of Ocean Spray’s cranberry supply.
  • Ensure that all documented policies and procedures related to fruit sampling and quality testing are properly executed, and that training of employees in quality standards and lab testing is completed.
  • Support efforts to ensure proper sampling, measurement and evaluation of cranberry quality. With the Ag Operations Quality team, identify opportunities for improvement of current processes and procedures and support implementation Network-wide improvements.
  • Drive consistency across the Regions for all fruit quality related activities. Provide training and support for quality staff and production employees in GMPs, analytical testing, sampling, lab practices, auditing, problem solving, and statistical analysis.
  • Support food safety efforts of the Ag Operations group. Align regional activities with Cooperative goals and deliver value for member growers. Coordinate with the Ag Science group on research, outreach, food safety, fruit quality, and Ag Sustainability initiatives.
  • Provide audit support for local Receiving Operations and key ingredient customers.
  • Partner with Cooperative Development and Corporate management to foster positive Grower-Owner relations and ongoing communications to meet Grower needs.
  • Backup SQF Practitioner for assigned location.

Education

Bachelor's or University Degree (Preferred)

Compensation

$61,000 - $84,000 CAD
