We currently have an opening for a permanent, full-time Accounting Manager to join our accounting team, based out of our location in Richmond, BC. This role reports directly to the Director of Finance.

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead our accounting team and oversee the full accounting cycle, including Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in internal controls, process improvement, and team leadership. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven ability to simplify complex accounting processes, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the full accounting cycle, ensuring accurate and timely financial close and reporting.
Supervise AR and AP functions:
- Developing and tracking KPIs for AR team
- Assisting in establishing credit limits for new customers and managing credit limit adherence for existing customer base
- Supporting AP with resource allocation, developing and implementing KPIs for AP
- Owning internal controls for AR and AP, updating existing and developing new policies, procedures, checklists and manuals for compliant and efficient AR and AP, working with Procurement and Treasury where required
Establish, maintain, and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
Conduct periodic audits to assess financial accuracy and adherence to company policies.
Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations and increase efficiency.
Leverage technology and automation to simplify workflows, reduce errors, and enhance reporting capabilities.
Develop and document accounting policies and procedures to improve consistency and accuracy.
Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to foster professional growth and high performance.
Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training and guidance as needed.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business goals and financial decision-making.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial/supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Proven track record of process improvement and system implementation.
• Experience with ERP systems and accounting software.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
