Our client is a well-established General Contractor in the Commercial Construction, Design/Build arena with decades of experience delivering complex commercial and industrial construction projects. The organization has built a strong reputation for quality, collaboration, and long-term client partnerships across sectors such as industrial, commercial, aviation, and recreational infrastructure.

As the business continues to grow, they are seeking a Controller to lead the finance function and partner closely with operations to support project performance and strategic expansion.

This role will work closely with senior leadership and operations to help drive project profitability, financial discipline, and long‑term business growth.

• Lead the full‑cycle accounting and financial reporting process including month‑end, year‑end, and financial statement preparation.
• Oversee construction accounting processes, including job costing, work‑in‑progress (WIP) reporting, and percentage‑of‑completion accounting.
• Partner closely with project managers and operational leaders to monitor project financial performance and support decision‑making.
• Develop and enhance financial processes, internal controls, and reporting frameworks to support operational efficiency.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while fostering a strong performance‑driven culture.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis to support strategic planning.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, lenders, and advisors.
• Provide financial insight and recommendations to senior leadership on profitability, cost management, and growth initiatives.

• CPA designation (CA preferred)
• Background in public accounting (Big 4 or mid‑sized firm preferred)
• Construction industry experience required, including job costing and project accounting
• Proven leadership capability with experience mentoring or managing staff
• Highly hands‑on and comfortable working in a fast‑paced operational environment
• Strong communication and business partnering skills
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to grow with the business and make a meaningful impact
