Salary: CAD $41.42/Hr.

As a Registered Nurse in Perinatal Services, you will join the Perinatal Services Team to provide care across Antepartum, Intrapartum and Postpartum periods for women and babies and their families. You will work in collaboration with other members of the health care team and adhere to professional nursing standards and Health Authority policies.
Responsibilities- Work in collaboration with other members of the health care team.
- Use clinical judgment to provide optimal perinatal care (Antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum) to women and babies and their families.
- Provide assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of care for assigned patients in the perinatal service.
- Adhere to standards of professional nursing and patient care as per Health Authority policies and procedures.
- Graduate of an approved nursing program.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) and current National Registration in CPR and NRP as required.
- Completion of a post-basic obstetrical/perinatal nursing certificate/diploma.
- Two (2) years’ recent related experience in a Level 2-3 Maternity Unit, with courses in fetal health assessment and breastfeeding, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Demonstrated nursing practice with the designated client group.
- Ability to plan and implement care plans in relation to client/family priorities.
- Ability to assess client responses to care and respond appropriately.
- Ability to adjust to new or unexpected events and to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Strong communication skills and ability to counsel and educate clients and their families.
- Leadership, physical ability to perform duties, and proficiency with medical equipment and CPR techniques.
- Basic computer literacy to operate a computerized patient care information system.
The hours of work, including days off and work area, may be subject to change in line with operational requirements and the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Health authority onboarding includes reporting of vaccine history as required by policy.
