The company is experiencing growth and is seeking a Controller to join the Vancouver office, which is the largest and most active office in the organization.
The Controller will report to the President and CFO (currently based in Edmonton) and will be responsible for all accounting and finance functions for the Vancouver office. This is a leadership role with a clear path to CFO for the right candidate. The Controller will also be involved in modernizing accounting systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all accounting and finance operations for the Vancouver office

- Implement and upgrade accounting software and processes (current system needs modernization and integration with Procore)
- Manage electronic invoicing and approval workflows
- Coordinate with the Edmonton finance team and Controller, but operate independently for Vancouver
- Support the President with family office matters, including personal income tax and holding companies
- Ensure compliance with construction industry regulations, including bonding, contracts, insurance, the lean act, and holdbacks
- Facilitate and support the transition to more advanced financial management practices
- Minimum 4–5 years’ experience in a Controller or senior finance role within the construction industry (GC experience required)
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting, including bonding, contracts, insurance, and industry-specific nuances
- Demonstrated leadership and entrepreneurial mindset, with ambition to grow into a CFO role
- Experience with accounting system upgrades and process improvement
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, growing environment
- Ability to handle both company and family office financial matters
