Electrical Drafter

Job Title: Electrical Drafter Job Description

This role involves drafting and designing electrical components and control systems, with opportunities for growth.

• Assist team members with drafting tasks and report to the team lead.
• Take red lines from engineers/designers and draft them into updated drawings.
• Update drawings based on customer feedback and red lines.
• Work on various projects, primarily focusing on generator, switch gear, and VFD controls.
• Champion the transition from standard AutoCAD to fully utilizing AutoCAD Electrical or Eplan.
• Draft electrical components of generator sets, VFD controls, MCC controls, and instrumentation.
• Manage time effectively to prioritize projects from various team members.
• Potentially oversee co‑op students who assist with drafting tasks.

• 5+ years of design experience in AutoCAD.
• 3+ years of experience with AutoCAD Electrical or Eplan.
• 3+ years of experience designing electrical control systems (MCC's, VFD's, control panels, LV/MV switch gear).

• Experience working on Metro Van or BC Hydro projects and adhering to their standards.
• Direct experience with generator controls.
• Experience with scripting within AutoCAD.

This role reports to the team lead and involves working with 6-8 designers and engineers. The position follows a hybrid work model, requiring two days in the office on a 37.5 hour work week.

This is a Contract position based out of Richmond, BC.

The pay range for this position is $35.90 - $46.15/hr.
