Emergency Physician

Join Vancouver Coastal Health as a part‑time Emergency Physician at Richmond Hospital. The position begins on January 1, 2026 under a Clinical Service Contract.

Job Overview

Richmond Hospital is a busy 200+ bed community teaching hospital located in Richmond, BC. With approximately 58,000 ED visits per year, the Emergency Department operates 11 scheduled shifts daily and serves a diverse mix of adult and paediatric patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide primary emergency care in a high‑volume ED setting.
  • Participate in scheduled shifts, ensuring coverage and continuity of care.
  • Engage in education activities (Journal Club, Education Rounds, M&M Rounds, fortnightly Mock Codes).
  • Utilize sabbatical program as a full‑time member if applicable.
Qualifications
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Mandatory.
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) – Mandatory.
  • Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) – Full.
  • Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) – Emergency Medicine – Mandatory.
  • Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) – Mandatory.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PAL) – Desired.
