Project Manager, Civil Engineering, Operations Manager
Match Box Consulting Group is seeking a Project Manager with estimating experience to join our client, a well-established heavy civil and earthworks contractor based in Richmond. This is a senior, hands-on role for a true civil PM who can own both estimating and full-cycle project delivery on medium-scale civil projects across Greater Vancouver.
This opportunity offers more than a standard PM role. This is a rare chance to step into a dual PM + Estimator role with real ownership over projects and meaningful influence over how the business operates. You will wear multiple hats across preconstruction and operations, have direct input into company decisions, and work closely with ownership and senior leadership.
If you’re looking for stability, autonomy, and real influence inside a respected civil builder, apply today!
Responsibilities
- Lead civil construction projects from preconstruction through closeout ($1M–$5M range)
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, bids, and detailed take-offs
- Build and manage project budgets, schedules, and cost controls
- Develop and maintain schedules using MS Project and Gantt charts
- Oversee underground utilities, manholes, earthworks, grading, and hardscaping scopes
- Manage subcontractor procurement, contracts, and change orders
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal field teams
- Monitor site progress, quality, safety, and risk
- Support resource planning and workload forecasting
- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating and PM systems
- 8–12+ years of experience in civil construction project management
- 2–3+ years of hands-on estimating experience
- Strong background in underground utilities and heavy civil works
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and MS Project
- Strong understanding of scheduling and Gantt chart development
- Proven track record managing $1M–$5M civil projects
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
