** Position Overview
** The Buyer is in charge of analyzing, negotiating and making deals. The successful candidate will research, evaluate, and buy the best quality products for the company – either to resell the products or to use for production. They are responsible for maintaining accurate cost records, product life-cycle management, and managing fully landed product costs.  Acts as the divisional resource for inventory and supplier related business needs (primary supplier contact).

* Schedule:

** Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm. Potential to work from home one day per week.
** Salary:** $60, per year, plus bonus based on performance
** Duties and Responsibilities
*** Sourcing and purchasing food products, Including packaging
* Negotiating contracts and product costs
* Analyzing market trends
* Managing inventory levels
* Collaborating with other departments (Warehousing, Fleet, Production, and Sales.)
* Managing vendor relationships and performance
* Optimizing purchasing processes
* Forecasting demand
* Managing documentation
* Ensuring compliance with company policies
* Leading initiatives for specific category assignment
* Driving cost saving initiatives
* Other duties as required
** Required

Skills and Qualifications
*** Previous experience in purchasing/buying is an asset.
* Produce industry experience is an asset.
* Proficient computer skills.
* Effective communication in an open and direct manner; conveys information clearly and concisely, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Self-starter who thrives on working in a fast paced environment.
* Strong attention to details.
* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
* Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
* Accountable and dependable.
