Your role on the team :

The Business Development role is responsible for prospecting and closing new business, as well as supporting account maintenance. Your responsibilities include :

  • Developing a contact list for new business growth opportunities in your assigned market or territory.
  • Completing daily telemarketing, cold calling, and written communications to solicit new business opportunities.
  • Serving as a resource to solve customer needs, including transportation, rates for additional services, and contract interpretation.
  • Communicating regularly with assigned customers, including attending performance review meetings, process improvement or correction updates, and new business initiatives.
  • Addressing all customer issues, concerns, and requests.
  • Performing other duties and special projects as required and assigned.

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience and / or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with transportation management systems.
  • Experience with optimization tools preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
