In the role of Gift Card Accountant, you will ensure accurate tracking, reconciliation, and reporting of gift card activity across all locations. Reporting to the Gift Card Accounting Manager, you will prepare and reconcile corporate and third‑party entries, oversee transaction accuracy, and support order processing and customer inquiries. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, customer service, and the ability to manage deadlines are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and post weekly ACH fund transfers related to gift card activity
- Prepare and post miscellaneous journal entries related to gift card programs
- Accrue monthly gift card activations and related payments
- Code and review monthly vendor invoices related to gift card services
- Process, enter, and reconcile corporate and third‑party gift card transactions weekly and monthly
- Reconcile gift card liability accounts and investigate variances in a timely manner
- Reconcile gift card–related accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances
- Investigate third‑party gift card discrepancies and work with external partners to resolve issues
- Prepare weekly gift card liability reports.
- Upload and validate daily Canadian and U.S. gift card transaction database files.
- Conduct gift card investigations and resolve customer inquiries or concerns.
- Support gift card order processing.
- Provide administrative and accounting support to restaurant management regarding gift card transactions.
- Perform additional duties as required to support the Gift Card Accounting function.
Candidates should bring 1–2 years of accounting experience, be enrolled in accounting‑related studies, and demonstrate strong communication, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills. The role requires the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a small team, along with strong attention to detail, professionalism, and excellent customer service. Proficiency in Microsoft Office - especially Excel and Access - is essential.
Additional Information- Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- May require occasional lifting of items up to 30lbs
- Overtime may be required
