The Developmental Disabilities Association has been enabling people with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential with expertise, integrity, respect, and conviction for over 60 years. We are a dynamic community living agency that provides over 50 community-based programs and services to children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families in the Vancouver and Richmond areas. Over 1,600 individuals and families in the Vancouver and Richmond area are serviced by the Developmental Disabilities Association every year.

JOB TITLE: Accountant | #2126
SERVICE AREA: Accounting
LOCATION: Richmond, BC
START DATE: As soon as possible
TERM/STATUS: Permanent Full Time
SCHEDULE/HRS: Monday to Friday 8:00-16:00 // 37.5 hours per week
HOURLY WAGE: $29.17 - $33.49 as per collective agreement
This position assists in the smooth and efficient operation of the accounting department. The Accountant 1 performs accounting duties such as processing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger account reconciliation.

- Completed 2 years of post-secondary courses in areas such as bookkeeping, accounting or business administration.
- Accurate and efficient filing and data entry skills.
- Minimum 2 years accounting experience in a computerized environment.
- Demonstrated computer skills with SAGE ERP (SAGE 300) Excel and Word.
- Proven analytical skills and communication skills – verbal and written.
- Ability to work under pressure, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Criminal Record Clearance
- Medical Clearance
- Demonstrated competency in English
- Basic computer literacy
- Experience in social service field desirable.
- Eligible to work in Canada
- This position requires union membership.
