Manager, Accounting

Responsibilities   Assist with day-to-day accounting and month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, analysis, and financial reporting
Assist with financial system implementations and updates
Perform research and provide input on finance requirements for new transactions and areas of business
Assist with the year-end external audit
Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and reporting, and participate in internal control process implementations and reviews
Provide ongoing accounting and finance support to Ellis Don divisions
Participate in control processes such as review and approval of payments, invoices, and purchase orders
Perform research on technical accounting matters, and prepare accounting standards analysis for new transactions and changes in accounting standards
Identify risk areas, research and evaluate best practices, and design, recommend, implement and monitor controls and other processes
Participate in special projects as needed, including acquisition due-diligence
Qualifications   You have a strong accounting background, with in-depth experience in ASPE and/or IFRS
You hold a CPA designation
You have a minimum of 5 years of progressive and relevant experience, including leading and developing a team
You are a well-organized, proactive and detail oriented individual able to self-manage and work as part of a team in a dynamic fast paced environment
You are a highly technical accountant that has strong attention to detail and can offer process improvements and innovative solutions
You possess strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel
