• Assist with day-to-day accounting and month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, analysis, and financial reporting
• Assist with financial system implementations and updates
• Perform research and provide input on finance requirements for new transactions and areas of business
• Assist with the year-end external audit
• Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and reporting, and participate in internal control process implementations and reviews
• Provide ongoing accounting and finance support to Ellis Don divisions
• Participate in control processes such as review and approval of payments, invoices, and purchase orders
• Perform research on technical accounting matters, and prepare accounting standards analysis for new transactions and changes in accounting standards
• Identify risk areas, research and evaluate best practices, and design, recommend, implement and monitor controls and other processes
• Participate in special projects as needed, including acquisition due-diligence

• You have a strong accounting background, with in-depth experience in ASPE and/or IFRS
• You hold a CPA designation
• You have a minimum of 5 years of progressive and relevant experience, including leading and developing a team
• You are a well-organized, proactive and detail oriented individual able to self-manage and work as part of a team in a dynamic fast paced environment
• You are a highly technical accountant that has strong attention to detail and can offer process improvements and innovative solutions
• You possess strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel
