Exciting Opportunity for Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners Specializing in Cardiovascular and Cardiothoracic Surgery
Join our dynamic team as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner specializing in Cardiovascular or Cardiothoracic Surgery and make a meaningful impact in patient care. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work in a leading healthcare environment, focusing on surgical first assisting, clinical care, and on-call responsibilities. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first assist surgical support in cardiothoracic procedures within the hospital setting.
- Deliver comprehensive clinical care to cardiovascular patients in outpatient settings.
- Participate in rotating call responsibilities, including 7-8 days per month, with 24-hour weekend and night coverage during weekdays.
- Conduct inpatient rounds, assist in surgeries, and respond to callbacks during on-call duties.
- Perform clinical duties approximately 2-4 days per month, with surgical first assist roles 10-12 days per month.
- Eligible for overtime pay after 40 hours of clinical work per week.
- Valid certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (NP).
- Proven experience in cardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgery, preferably in a hospital or surgical setting.
- Strong clinical assessment and patient management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments and adapt to changing schedules.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to participate in rotating on-call schedules, including weekends and nights.
Skills:
- Previous experience in surgical first assisting.
- Familiarity with hospital electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Additional certifications such as ACLS, BLS, or ATLS.
- Bilingual abilities to enhance patient care and communication.
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiovascular or cardiothoracic clinical care or surgery.
- Prior on-call experience in a healthcare setting.
- Active state licensure and board certification.
- Willingness to travel if needed for specialized cases or training.
- Valid BLS, ACLS, and other relevant certifications.
- Ability to commit to the specified start date of April 24, 2026.
