Salary Range: $85, commensurate with qualifications/education.
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with occasional nights and weekends on a volunteer basis.

The Children’s Development Center in Richland, WA is hiring an Occupational Therapist to empower families and improve children’s lives through comprehensive early intervention services, education, and therapeutic services. The Occupational Therapist will participate in a multi-faceted evaluation team and sign off on chart/progress notes of Occupational Therapy Assistants and/or COTAs. This position will help children improve, regain, and develop motor skills needed for day-to-day life.

What does the position entail?
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team (MDT), including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and social workers, to coordinate care and ensure a holistic approach to treatment.
- Participate in a team evaluation of children’s skills using standardized testing and develop goals/objectives.
- Develop and implement an individualized treatment plan based upon assessments, evaluation/observation, input from the parent(s)/guardian(s), and MDT decisions.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of child’s physical, emotional, and social needs to determine their level of function and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide treatment for children assigned to you by the department supervisor.
- Contact families and construct/maintain client schedules in accordance with the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP).
- Prepare for scheduled therapy sessions and provide direct treatment and parent/guardian coaching.
- Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques and exercises to enhance child’s strength, coordination, mobility, and cognitive function.
- Identify and re-evaluate children assigned to you using the most appropriate test as needed.
- Work with durable medical supply company to obtain adaptive equipment. Complete letter of medical necessity.
- Engage in consultative meetings with other team members as needed.
- Discuss medical insurance questions with CDC insurance billing department as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, using the EHR system (Advanced
MD), including scheduling, family information, medical history, evaluation documentation, ongoing assessments, chart notes, treatment plans, goals and objectives, and transition reports in each child’s file at CDC in conjunction with the Family Resource Coordinators (FRCs) and in compliance with HIPAA regulations. - Participate in the MDT meetings and IFSP meetings.
