Job Summary

As a Pipe Stress Engineer, you will transform engineering concepts into high-precision 2D and 3D plant designs and support layouts. By constructing detailed scale models and overseeing the full lifecycle of work plans, you will ensure every drawing meets rigorous quality and compliance standards. Your ability to collaborate across disciplines will be the bridge between technical theory and seamless, high-quality PD&P system execution.

Job Description
  • Develops designs for complete and complex 3D model equipment layouts & pipe designs with minimum supervision.
  • Ensures compliance with approved PD&P design standards in own work and by those assigned.
  • Originates, reviews, and checks calculations, design models, drawings, and design documents for quality, accuracy, and functionality.
  • Works with designers in other disciplines to coordinate overall design and technical requirements.
  • Answers questions from client or construction group on PD&P design scope.
  • Provides on-the-job training for personnel within PD&P design.
  • Navigates the 3D model to use as input to pipe stress models.
  • Ensures PD&P systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
Skills Required
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience (with Bachelor's degree) OR 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
  • Prior experience using pipe stress analysis programs including ME101 and/or Bentley AutoPIPE.
  • Previous project experience.
  • Ability to develop designs for complex 3D model equipment layouts and pipe designs.
  • Must possess the right to work and remain in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Education/Training/Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (or international equivalent) or equivalent work experience.
Additional Requirements
  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at site), and background check (employment and education verification).
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Non-U.S. citizens from countries identified by the DOE as posing heightened security concerns are subject to additional security requirements.
