Job Duties/Scope Of Work
The Business Process Analyst within the Continuous Improvement team plays a vital role in defining, measuring, analyzing, improving, and implementing enhancements to business processes. The focus of this position is to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize organizational performance to support the Hanford Mission Essential Services Contract (HMESC). The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of business process improvement methodologies, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and One Hanford Contractors (OHC) to deliver impactful change.
EssentialFunctions
- Analyze existing business processes to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to map current-state and future-state processes.
- Develop and implement strategies to streamline workflows and improve operational performance.
- Conduct or assist with root cause analysis and recommend solutions to address performance gaps.
- Initiate activities and implement resolutions to problems with varying degrees of complexity affecting the organization.
- Design and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure business and operational process improvements and outcomes.
- Lead and facilitate workshops, focus groups, and training sessions for process improvement initiatives.
- Utilize business process methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, SIPOC, and Agile to implement best practices.
- Create detailed documentation, including process maps, workflows, and improvement plans.
- Monitor the effectiveness of implemented changes and continuously identify additional areas for optimization.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging tools/technologies for process improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in business process analysis or continuous improvement roles.
- Certification or demonstrable experience in Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher), or similar methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with process mapping, workflow design, and KPI development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to facilitate workshops and collaborate across teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision and manage complex initiatives.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential badge.
- Experience working within government contracts or regulated environments (preferably nuclear/environmental services).
- Experience with Agile project management practices.
- Familiarity with Hanford Site operations and collaboration with One Hanford Contractors (OHC).
