The TSP company is looking for a skilled Facilities Technician to join their High Voltage team. The main role involves operating and maintaining electrical systems that range from very high voltages of 138,000 volts down to 480 volts. This system is essential for the factory's operations, and the technician must ensure all equipment works safely and reliably.
Key Responsibilities- Perform regular maintenance on electrical equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, and switch gear across different voltage levels.
- Create maintenance schedules, work documents, and safety permits.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, testing and replacing parts when needed.
- Follow safety procedures like Lockout/Tagout to prevent hazards during work.
- Work with engineering, logistics, and factory teams to coordinate maintenance activities.
- Develop and review procedures for maintenance and safety protocols, including reading electrical diagrams.
- Supervise contractors and review their work reports.
- Conduct electrical testing on high voltage systems offline and analyze results for repairs.
- Perform factory acceptance tests and system commissioning for high voltage equipment.
- Keep documentation on equipment lifespan and suggest updates for better maintenance.
- Monitor system performance to ensure power quality and reliability.
- Coordinate with utility companies for site reliability and growth projects.
- Update operational procedures and electrical drawings regularly to meet industry standards.
- Ability to read and update electrical system drawings.
- Experience with electrical systems from 138kV to 15kV voltages.
- At least 8 years of relevant industry or military experience.
- Skills in electrical testing and switching operations.
- Self‑motivated with problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and AutoCAD.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Willing to handle after‑hours call‑ins.
- Preferred:
Journeyman’s Electrical License and knowledge of safety standards like NFPA and OSHA.
- Leadership in switching operations and contractor oversight is required. Teamwork, adaptability, and commitment are essential. Overtime and call‑ins may be necessary.
