About the job Kitchen Manager - Adult Day Care

Shift: Monday - Friday 8am-4pm

Pay rate:$15/ hr

Job Description:

We are seeking a Kitchen Manager for our adult day care center for Alzheimer's patients. The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for reheating and serving food to our patients, as well as managing the overall kitchen operations. This is a full-time position and the Kitchen Manager will report directly to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Reheat and serve food to patients based on their dietary needs and preferences.
  • Plan and coordinate daily menus with the Director of Operations.
  • Order food supplies and equipment as needed, ensuring the kitchen is always well-stocked.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including regular cleaning and sanitation of kitchen equipment and surfaces.
  • Monitor food quality, temperature, and portion sizes to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff as needed.
  • Manage kitchen budget and expenses, keeping track of inventory and ensuring that costs stay within budget.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that patient dietary needs are met.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, as well as company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
    Culinary degree or certificate preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen setting.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food service.
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment and tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease and/or experience working with the elderly is a plus, but not required.
